Heathrow Express’s ticketing application allows customers to purchase and receive tickets direct to their mobile device, and this is currently hosted through Amazon Web Services (AWS).
NCC Group used its Escrow as a Service solution to replicate the AWS-hosted cloud architecture and verify Heathrow Express’ wider disaster recovery and cloud continuity strategy.
“Cloud technology drives costs down and boosts efficiency, but many businesses are yet to fully adopt cloud-based software due to concerns about its availability in the event of supplier failure, security vulnerabilities or any other unforeseen circumstance,” says NCC Group chief technical officer, Mr Ollie Whitehouse.
