Need to solve inland rail's 'missing link' says Port of Brisbane
AUSTRALIAN Rail Track Corporation has begun survey work to map in detail the geography of the proposed Inland Rail route through the Darling Downs.
The work will run until February and will involve on-the-ground survey crews and aerial work from fixed-wing aircraft.
In a public notice in today's Toowoomba Chronicle, ARTC said the survey work would "help us map in more detail the geography and terrain for the northern section of the Border to Gowrie project study area, including around Pittsworth, Southbrook, Athol, and the Wellcamp-Charlton industrial precinct".
"The survey points are reference points only and may be outside of the Inland Rail study area.
"They should not be taken as indicating the alignment for Inland Rail through this area."
