The Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority awarded the main design-build contract for the Foothill Gold Line light rail extension to a joint venture of Kiewit and Parsons, the authority announced on August 14.
The $805·6m contact covers the first phase of the eastern extension from APU/Citrus College in Glendora to Pomona, serving four stops on a 14·5 km alignment. It includes an option for a further 5·3 km, two-station extension from Pomona to Montclair. This would be exercised if additional funds are secured by September 2021, and would bring the total contract value to $1·19bn.
