The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MahaMetro) has said that it has so far completed laying of track in the 11.4-km-long stretch on PCMC-Range Hills section and about 540 meters of tracks on Vanaz-Civil Court section of the metro project.
The work of the erection of tubular portals for overhead traction has also been initiated in both sections. The portals and traction help maintain the power supply required for the running of metro rakes.
The MahaMetro has said that work has been expedited in both sections. About 55 portals have been erected so far in the PCMC-Range Hills section while 20 in Vanaz-Civil Court stretch. Work on commencement of two power substations has also been started to provide uninterrupted power.
