Yarra Trams delivered 98.7 per cent of services in May with 81.7 per cent of services arriving on time. Target for reliability is 98.5 per cent, while the target for punctuality is 82.0 per cent.
Trams share the city's roads and traffic congestion is a leading factor affecting tram performance. This is why we continue to work closely with our on-road partners including VicRoads to find ways to make journey times more reliable.
This month, Yarra Trams successfully delivered a new
platform stop on Carlisle Street in Balaclava, improving safety and
accessibility on Route 3/3a and 16, and increasing connectivity for
passengers between trams and trains at Balaclava Station.
Yarra Trams also implemented the new Master Timetable on May
20.
We are continuing our readiness activities in preparation for the June construction blitz, including large road works, Metro and state projects. During disruptions, Yarra Trams manages the network in real-time to adjust to the road conditions and help people to safely get where they want to go.
