THE model engineers of Tamworth have pulled their weight to help with the drought.
Members of the Tamworth and District Model Engineers, operators of the miniature railway, voted to make the donation to support the local community, raising money for the R U Aware, We Care drought appeal.
All profits from public train rides and the Loco Café were donated to the campaign to assist farmers in the grip of drought across the region.
President David Scott said the event pulled in about $2000 for the local campaign.
He estimated there were about 800 people who took a little train ride on Sunday.
“That’s one of our better days for sure,” Mr Scott said.
“So we’d like to thank the community for their support.”
