Led by Traditional Owners, the team participated in a permission ceremony including Acknowledgment of Country, ochre paint up and smoking ceremony. We viewed and heard the history of some ancient artefacts and listened to stories of the mountains at the yarning circle.
Our guided tour included sampling and learning about native foods, sites of cultural and historical significance, viewing canoe scar trees, as well as a totem pole dedicated to the South Sea Islanders who were brought to Australia to work on sugar and cotton plantations.
