NBN Chairman Ziggy Switkowski during a media announcement covering new NBN services today.
"I am pleased to announce today that NBNCo will be adopting a new technology to deploy ultra high
speed broadband even cheaper and even faster to all Australians. Because this technology is
wireless based, we have immediately suspended work on all legacy fibre and copper cable networks."
Much like ”G-Fast” could deliver fibre-like speeds to legacy copper networks, the latest “G-Burst”
technology is able to deliver even high bandwidths wirelessly, because it it is no longer restricted to the
crowded and low capacity Megahertz and Gigahertz sections of the E/M spectrum.
The biggest issue preventing earlier deployment has been the size and cost of the handsets. But the
latest technology means we can deliver up to 100,000 Mbps in a handset that is lighter and cheaper
than a typical mobile phone.
G-Burst handsets don't need batteries and never need recharging. They quite literally run on water, a
special type of water that is now cheaply mass produced in Japan.
Another benefit of G-Burst technology is medical. General Practitioners will no longer need to refer
patients to radiology clinics for X-Ray images. By operating in the Exahertz range X-Ray generation
and imaging capability is automatically built into each and every G-Burst handset.
Perhaps the most exciting part of this project are cheaper electricity bills and a greatly reduced
national carbon footprint. Not only are the 6 capital city base stations conveniently centrally located,
as a waste by-product, each generates over 100,000 GWatts of emissions free electricity.
NBNCo is pleased to announce we have completed supply negotiation and can now announce we
have entered into binding $5bil per year supply contracts with our partners:
Everyone at NBNCo at this most exciting and invigorating development in our nation's communications
industry, and we can all look forward to a glowing future.
