Under the three-year contract, which includes an optional two-year extension, Harsco Rail will operate and maintain Network Rail’s fleet of eight mobile maintenance trains. The contract will start in April.
Seven trains are currently operational and are based at Darlington, Derby, Horsham, Paddock Wood, Retford, Romford and Wakefield. The eighth maintenance train is used to undertake overhaul and maintenance works across the network.
