The promised new rail line to Sydney's second airport could be delayed for years with the drought, bushfires and coronavirus putting pressure on the state's budget.
The planned line is supposed to run from St Mary's, connecting the existing T1 Western Line to the new Badgerys Creek airport.
The second stage, through Bringelly, Rossmore and Leppington, would connect to the T2 line in the south-west.

The $8 billion cost is being shared 50-50 between the state and federal governments. Yet it's all likely to be delayed now by up to three years with money limited following the successive impacts of drought, bushfires and the coronavirus on the state coffers.
NSW Labor have slammed the revelations that the rail line could be delayed past 2026.
"This would be one of the only modern airports in the world built without rail access," Shadow Transport Minister Chris Minns said.
The federal and state governments are splitting the cost of the rail. (9News)But 9News has learned the business case shows it makes little economic sense to have the line running when the first planes land, as it won't deliver value for money in the short term.
And in the first few years, hardly anybody is projected to use it.
Without a rail link, the closest station to the airport will be either Leppington or St Marys - roughly a 20-minute drive away.
