A freight train has derailed near the level crossing in Junee with at least two empty flat rail cars coming off the tracks.
This is the THIRD derailment in Junee in 12 months.
The Olympic Highway is closed in both directions between Main & Seignior Streets, with local diversions in place.
Heavy vehicles are directed to use Goldfields Way, Old Junee Road and Queen Street to return to the Olympic HWY.
Today’s incident comes just weeks after a report into last June’s derailment found it may not have happened if the damaged track had been identified during the usual checks days before.
