Former Mildura Development Corporation chief executive and current NorthWest Rail Alliance spokesman Chris Crewther has thrown his hat in the ring for Liberal Party preselection to the seat of Dunkley in Melbourne.
The seat is to be vacated by former small business minister Bruce Billson, who was demoted by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in his Cabinet reshuffle.
The preselection is tipped to be hotly contested, with Mr Billson currently holding the South-East Melbourne seat by a margin of 5.6 per cent.
