Commuters along the Sydney Metro route are facing evening delays, hours after a communications glitch halted trains on the line to the city's north-west suburbs for two hours on Tuesday morning.
Transport officials say buses are replacing train services between Castle Hill and Tallawong because of "mechanical repairs" on a train near Norwest station.

That meant services were running at a reduced frequency between Chatswood and Castle Hill, Sydney Metro said about 5.30pm.
Commuters are being urged to allow extra travel time, listen to station announcements and check information displays for updates.
The interruption follows delays on the line for the second Tuesday morning in a row after a "communications issue" caused services to grind to a halt between Tallawong and Chatswood.
