Major upgrades on the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) tracks and signalling kick off this weekend as part of the Torrens Rail Junction Project.
In order for these upgrades to be performed safely, trains cannot be running, so the decision has been made to implement railway closures throughout the network.
Gawler rail line will be partially closed between Adelaide and Mawson Lakes from 9pm this Saturday through to the December 5, with substitute buses will pick up and set down at Stop D North Terrace outside the InterContinental Adelaide.
Train services between Mawson Lakes and Gawler Central will operate as normal.
The temporary closures of the Outer Harbor and Grange rail lines will also continue into the new year, with normal services resuming on Monday, 15 January.
You can access more info on the railway closures on the Adelaide Metro website.
