The Federal Minister for Defence, Dan Tehan's Ministerial career did not start well with the deception of the media and the electorate at the Avoca media event proclaiming the Ararat to Maryborourgh Standard Gauge reconstruction completed.
The orchestrated media event and containment of the media to just the Avoca site gave the impression of the rail line's completion. However, this further from the truth with cost over runs and a delayed completion date and further work continuing beyond Avoca and not under the glare of cameras and the invited journalists.
Mr Tehan's is now in the Ministry and his deception would be characteristic of the Turnbull government's behaviour and attitude towards the electorate and the media.
Mr Tehan's deception is also characteristic of the lack of truthfulness, honesty and integrity in the Turnbull government and its attempt to quash criticism with their charities legislation and national security legislation aimed at muting journalists and the media.
The Victorian Public Transport Minister, Jacinta Allan was also present with the deception and a willing participant and her political judgement, credibility and integrity must now be called into question.
