In the company of Premier Daniel Andrews and Maree Edwards, the Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan at the Bendigo Railway Station postulated the construction of the Huntly, Goornong and Raywood stations.
Goornong population - 654 ( this has been described as too early because of a lack of development.)
Huntly - population 4, 331 and 110 final stage of housing to be released.( This is considered a repeat of Epsom's construction)
Raywood - population 328 - ( This is considered totally inappropriate expense and is due in part because it falls within Jacinta Allan's Electorate.)
Epsom - population 8,070 - with an average of 10 cars in the car park per day per week.
The stage 3 of the residential and commercial and business park development by the Andrews Government is the re-establishment of the rail line from Bendigo to Inglewood via Marong and Bridge Water.
Marong - population 311
Bridge Water - population 363
Inglewood - population 1,058
Towns that have been requesting passenger rail services
Harcourt - population 943 ( Increase in population with the release of land for housing population will increase)
Taradale - population 448 ( Population due to increase due to land being released for housing)
Huntly appears to be legitimately requiring to have a railway station, however, there is concern that it will end up like Epsom and be under utilised.
Jacinta Allan's postulation for Raywood and Goornong to have railway stations on the provision of the Andrews Government being elected is an electioneering policy that is an unfunded thought bubble and lacks strategic planning and to put it in its simplest terms just designed to get Jacinta Allan across the line at the election.
These cities and towns have requested the reintroduction of passenger rail services to Jacinta Allan
Mildura (Pop 60,000)
Donald (Pop 1,693)
St Arnaud (Pop 2,619)
Horsham (Pop 17,916)
Stawell (Pop 6,032)
Leongatha (Pop 5,119)
Hamilton (Pop 9,974)
These cities and towns should be on top of Jacinta Allan's list for the re-introduction of passenger rail services and they all have railway stations, but they don't fall within Jacinta Allan's electorate like Goornong, Huntly and Raywood.
Jacinta Allan to solve Horsham's request for a passenger service went to Ararat railway station and announced two extra bus services for Horsham.
The proposition of Jacinta Allan for Raywood, Goornong and Huntly to be given railway stations is simply contemptible.
