Infrastructure Victoria's solution to the Airport Rail Link is to put more buses on and alter traffic signals to give buses priority to the airport and considers that the Airport Rail Link will not be needed until 2036 and 2039.
Obviously Infrastructure Victoria staff do not use the Tullamarine Airport or the Freeway and have not visited other capital cities in the country like Brisbane and Sydney or Paris of Beijing Airports which have Airport Rail Links as do other major capital cities in the world.
The premise by Infrastructure Victoria is preferring bus connection is because it will be cheaper by about $50 million and $100 million based on its own estimates.
Well based on this premise the Rail Revival Alliance Victoria believes that Infrastructure Victoria has exceeded its use by date and this is an organisation that advises politicians, beaurocrats and the parliament.
Infrastructure Victoria has become a political embarrassment and needs to be restructured and brought into the 21 Century thinking with transport and previous reports and recommendations made by this organisation have also lacked relevance and practical and realistic advice.
