Ah the weekend, the one time that London's transport network isn't entirely clogged up with grumpy-looking commuters crammed so close you've learned disgusting new meanings for the word intimacy.
At weekends, the worst hazard you have to face is some confused-looking tourists who are struggling to work out that yes, they are in fact on the wrong branch of the Northern line.
Except, of course, when the powers-that-be decide to close large sections of the transport network, just for the small matter that they need to carry out work essential to keeping the whole thing actually running.
So, to help you plan your weekend ahead here's our round-up of all this weekend (July 13-14 in case you weren't sure) closures on the Tube, Overground and TfL Rail network.
The Circle Line, Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan LinesCircle LineTrack replacement work means you won’t be able to use the Circle Line between Hammersmith and Tower Hill via King’s Cross on Saturday (July 13) and Sunday.
Hammersmith and City LineThe track replacement work on the Circle Line also affects the Hammersmith and City Line between Hammersmith and Tower Hill on Saturday and Sunday, since the two lines share tracks.
Metropolitan LineThose pesky track replacement works also affect the Metropolitan Line which shares tracks with the Circle and Hammersmith and City Line. Those works mean the section of the Metropolitan Line between King’s Cross St Pancras and Aldgatewill be shut on Saturday and Sunday.
There are three major closures on the Overground at the weekend (Image: Dan Kitwood / Getty Images)Liverpool StreetThere are two major closures on the Overground network through both Saturday and Sunday.
The section of the Overground between Liverpool Street and Cheshunt or Chingford is going to be closed through the weekend because of work being carried out by Network Rail. TfL said passengers can use Greater Anglia services, other Tube lines or local buses instead.
