The Australian Rail Track Corporation board has two new members after the Government appointed David Saxelby and Jennifer Seabrook to the body.
A joint statement from minister for infrastructure and transport Darren Chester and minister for finance Mathias Cormann says the appointments would ensure a strong leadership group is in place to deliver on the Australian Government’s rail investment and reform agenda.
Seabrook has more than 20 years of board experience, including current director-level roles with Iluka Resources Limited, IRESS Limited, MMG Limited, and Western Australian Treasury Corporation.
The joint statement says: “Her experience will ensure the board retains strong capability in finance and capital markets over coming years.”
While Saxelby has experience delivering major projects, working on projects such as the Lane Cove Tunnel, ANZAC Bridge and NorthConnex.
“The Coalition Government is committed to ensuring that our national freight network is as efficient and effective as possible, this includes delivering the largest transport project in Australia – Inland Rail from Melbourne to Brisbane,” says the joint statement.
