The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC), which is entrusted to implement metro rail system in Agra, has shortlisted two firms for design consultancy work of Corridor – I of Agra Metro rail project.
In June 2019, the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) had floated tender for engagement of Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) for Civil, Architectural, E&M, Traction and Power supply works consisting of 6.569 Km Elevated Section with 06 Elevated Stations, Ramps, 7.681 km long underground section with 7 underground Stations and Metro Car Maintenance Depot for Corridor-1 (Sikandra-Taj East Gate) of proposed Agra Metro Rail Project in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. The estimated cost of the work is Rs.26 crore.
Among all participant bidders for design consultancy work, the LMRC has found two bidders technically fit and shortlisted the consortium of Systra MVA Consulting (India) Private Limited and Systra, France; and Tata Consulting Engineers Limited (TCE) in consortium with 3TI Progetti Italia-Ingegneria Integrata S.P.A. and Leap Infrasys Private Limited.
The Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ) Authority has refused to grant No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) for commencing construction work of metro rail project in the City. While returning the proposal, the authority has asked LMRC to first bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Supreme Court of India.
LMRC had applied for NOC for Agra Metro at TTZ Authority six months ago. On no receipt of NOC, the concerned officer sent the reminder to the Authority a few days ago. The TTZ authority returned the proposal with remarks to receive the NOC first from the Apex Court in this regard.
An official of the authority said that the authority has sought details of how the Agra Metro will work? At the same time, the first NOC will need to be collected from the Supreme Court, only then the authority will issue NOC.
During LMRC board meeting held in July, the corporation had decided to approach the Apex Court to obtain NOC. LMRC had also floated tenders for the construction of corridor 1 of Agra Metr Rail project.
