Rare Arnott's biscuit van restored
The Erlestoke Manor Fund has released an update on the overhaul of 7812 “Erlestoke Manor” and Tender T2329 at Tyseley Locomotive Works.
7812 “Erlestoke Manor”
Over the last couple of months majority of the overhaul work has been carried out on the ‘bottom-end’, reassembling the rolling chassis in particular.
The frame has received all its lays of paint, which will allow the frame to be reunited with the coupled wheels within the next couple of weeks.

Both piston valves have been refitted, following new snap & wide rings, reboring and new gland sleeves. Before the frame is back on the coupled wheels, the team made sure tasks, like reattaching the eccentric straps, are completed to make them easier.
New copper inside steam pipes have been produced by Speyside Copper Works for the Fund.

Tender T2329
Volunteers have also been busy overhauling T2329 from Ex Barry Scrapyard condition. Only the majority of the horn blocks, horn ties & back steps could be saved, with everything else needing replacement. The new frame has been fitted with these surviving components and new fixing, allowing primer paint to start being applied.

7802 “Bradley Manor”
For the meantime “Bradley Manor” has been ‘winterised’ at Tyseley Locomotive Works to protect against the harsh winter weather.
The Fund plans to release an update on 7802 in the new year.
