V/LINE services have been thrown into chaos this afternoon following a derailment at Southern Cross station.
Cranes are being sent in to clear up the mess, caused by an infrastructure fault.
Two locomotives jumped off the tracks at 2.30pm, blocking trains in the holding yard, a V/Line spokesman said.
Five services from Southern Cross this evening have been cancelled, while a further four tomorrow morning have been scrapped.
Affected services include the 4.55 to Marshall (Geelong), 5.40 to Seymour, 5.52 to Bacchus Marsh, 6.13 to Seymour and 6.56 to Marshall.
The 9.20 from Seymour to Southern Cross will not run tonight.
Tomorrow morning, the 6.25 from Seymour, 6.56 from Geelong, 6.53 from Bacchus Marsh and 7.47 from South Geelong will be replaced by buses.
V/Line has advised passengers to allow an extra 30 to 40 minutes travel time due to the disruptions.
