The video clearly shows a youth having drink poured on him by a passenger of the train. Undeterred the vandals complete the brazen attack before scampering off behind a row of Peppercorn Trees.
Railpage also understands the train was stopped at Clifton Hill where the Police attended and arrests were made. Railpage has been contacted by many passengers who also stated there was an altercation at Southern Cross Railway Station between passengers and the vandals where a mobile phone was broken. Railpage was also told of passengers on the train using mobile phones to communicate with the vandals to advise the trains position.
Later, the train was again attacked at Essendon Railway Station where the rear of the train was spray painted by a group of youths. During this time the youths also gained access to the control cabin and disabled the train.
Despite the criminal damage to the train a great day was had by all.
