German rail technology company Vossloh has signed multi-year framework agreements with a combined value of up to €100m to deliver switch components to Sweden and Italy.
In Sweden, the company signed the agreements with local transport administration Trafikverket. The tenure of the agreements is four years with the option of two two-year extensions.
If all options are exercised, the total sales volume will amount to more than €75m.
Vossloh’s Swedish business, which operates under its Customised Modules division, will supply the switch components to Trafikverket.
Vossloh CEO Andreas Busemann said: “We are pleased that the renewed trust Trafikverket placed in Vossloh will allow us to continue our successful cooperation with them. The renewed contract is a sign of the reliability of our products.”

In Italy, the company will supply switch components and systems to the state-owned rail company Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) for high-speed lines.
The components will be manufactured in the Customized Modules division’s French production units.
The Italian agreement has a term of two years with a sales volume of €25m.
Busemann added: “We are very pleased that RFI has placed its trust in us. These framework agreements will enable Vossloh to sustain our well-established market position in Italy.”
Vossloh’s core business is rail infrastructure, with activities segregated into Core Components, Customized Modules and Lifecycle Solutions divisions. Last year, the company registered sales of €865m.
In January, Vossloh completed the acquisition of Strabag’s rail milling business. The business was integrated with Vossloh’s Berlin-based subsidiary Alpha Rail Team within its Lifecycle Solutions division.
