Closure of Newcastle rail stations not technically a closure of whole line, State Government lawyer says
We are hearing how to move this country forward a lot lately during this pandemic. After World War I and the Spanish flu pandemic, to help with employment and also the Veterans, the Great Ocean Road was built and we all know how popular the towns are along the way, it's a main tourist attraction.
Both Federal and State sitting members in the South Coast and Illawarra regions are thinking of ways to rebuild the areas devastated by bushfires and the pandemic.
What a great initiative it would be if they all threw their support now behind the upgrade for the South Coast Rail Line.
Not only to Bomaderry where the line ends, but to create a transport system that supports and connects all the way down the Coast.
We need this now, a fast rail network from Sydney to Bomaderry and better infrastructure to connect beyond.
Think of the jobs and infrastructure this would create for our communities and businesses that would impact for decades.
