A woman was taken by helicopter to the hospital after crashing into a railroad car near Deerfield on Saturday evening.
Mary Carey, a spokeswoman for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, said Massachusetts State Police are investigating the accident.
Police were pursuing the car after reports of an erratic driver going north on Route 91, where she crashed into another vehicle and sent it into the median. The woman then exited Route 91 at Deerfield, and was transported to Baystate Medical Center after crashing into the railway car near Old State Road, according to Carey.
