Stored but preserved electric locos 8501 and 8649 sit out behind the Werris Creek loco on 26-9-2016. 10 x 85 class locomotives were built by Comeng in 1979 for the New South Wales Government Railways with 8501 entering service on 30-5-1979 They remained in service until April 1998 when National Rail Corporation withdrew the class. 2 of the class survive in preservation, 8501 owned by the Sydney Electric Train Society and 8507 owned by Dorrigo
