A major reason for the building of the standard gauge line between Kalgoorlie and Perth was the commencement of iron ore mining at Koolyanobbing. The original set up had a short branchline run from Koolyanobbing yard to the iron ore bins at the mine. This photo was taken half way along the branch at a small cutting.
