SCT service 4MP9 gets a push up the 1 in 45 (2.2%) grade at Yantaringa by EMD powered locomotives C501, CLF2 and CLF4 on 5th February 2021.

The engines had earlier run light engine from Dooen in Victoria to Nairne in South Australia to assist 4MP9 after it had stalled. As no other trains were willing to assist and no rescue engines available in Adelaide resulted in the nearly 400km trip to assist MP9. The engines assisted the train to Mt. Lofty before cutting off and returning to Dooen.

C501 is on hire to SCT from Seymour Railway Heritage Group while CLF2 and CLF4 are on hire from Rail Power Australia.
