1103 and 1101 ease their train towards its destination at Port Botany for unloading. The locomotives will have to run around their train before it is pushed back fully, ready to be unloaded.
This view shows the ovehanging roof valance as well as the large hump in the roofline to accomodate the engine silencer (which has 4 exhaust ports). Both features being measures to meet the noise requirements mandated for rail traction units within New South Wales. Thankfully, whilst rather muffled, it is still obvious to the listener that an EMD 645 with turbocharging lurks beneath the hood of these unique locomotives.
