CF4412 and CF4411 race 6L43, a CFCL Australia chartered train through Koolewong, bound for Gosford to celebrate the launch of the latest batch of CF Class.
CF4412 is the last in a second delivery of 4,400hp C44aci locomotives to leasing company CFCL Australia. Built by UGL Rail in Broadmeadow, NSW and powered by a General Electric AC drive engine, the next six locomotives will join their sister classmates in lease service all over the Australian standard gauge network.
CF4412 was named "Black Caviar" in the tradition of naming CFCL Australia locomotives after famous racehorses, following the companies tagline "Australian Horsepower". To commemorate the success of Black Caviar (the horse), the locomotive was released from the workshops in a unique colour scheme, and launched on a special train on July 7th.
