The Commonwealth Railways had 47 GM class locomotives on its roster all of which passed to Australian National in 1978. The first 11 had an AIA-AIA wheel arrangement and 567B engines, while the remainder were Co-Cos with 567C power units.
Over the years most have been withdrawn and scrapped although a handful survive today. The sole remaining active A1A-AIA unit is GM10 currently owned by Southern Shorthaul Railroad.
In a previous incarnation it was operated by shortlived private operator Great Northern Rail Services in this Gulf, Mobile and Ohio inspired paint scheme as seen at Dry Creek (Adelaide) in April 2003.
A bit soft - found this on my hard drive, but had to be enlarged from a fairly small file.
