Super power for a local metropolitan trip working from Port Adelaide to Dry Creek in the form of passenger unit CLP13, recently rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen Australia in Whyalla.
EMD-powered CLP13 was originally built for the Commonwealth Railways by Clyde Engineering in 1970 with ownership transferring to Australian National in 1978.
Rebuilt by MKA in 1993 and fitted with HEP for use on iconic passenger trains such as The Ghan and The Indian Pacific, in the post privatisation era it ended up working on intermodal services for Aurizon before being retired in 2013.
In this image it is accompanied by ageing GM class loco GM32, which has only recently (Feb 2015) been sent for scrap.
