On a cold, damp Adelaide Hills day, the 'Up' Mount Gambier 'mixed' crosses the Main Road level crossing at Blackwood behind Australian National's ALCo 'World' unit no.952.
The overnight passenger accommodation can be seen at the rear of the train and previously was tripped as a shunt movement from Belair to Adelaide (see pic below).
With the opening of the new passenger terminal in Adelaide that practice ceased and the train ran through to the terminal where the passenger car was detached.
The overnight passenger service was withdrawn in October 1985.
