    HI 2000 Alco C628

    Preserved ex-Hamersley Iron C628 Alco at Dampier Seven Mile depot. This was one of the first five locomotives ordered in 1965 for the new iron ore railway.

    The trains of the Pilbara iron ore region have almost exclusively been carried by American locomotive types.
