Former South Australian Railway 'World' ALCo #958 was operated by Australian National up until 1992 when it was sold to local preservation group, Steamranger. As it continued to operate in excursion services over AN tracks, a condition of its sale was that the its AN corporate logos were to be removed.
With the standardiation of the broad gauge Adelaide to Melbourne corridor in May 1995, Steamranger's Adelaide based assets would be isolated from its main money earning route, the Victor Harbor line. Therefore early in 1995 #958 was required to perform a number of rolling stock transfers, one of which is seen near Ambleside, South Australia on 3 February 1995.
