Lead and zinc ores are railed from Broken Hill in New South Wales to Port Pirie in South Australia - the lead for smelting at Port Pirie itself and the zinc for on-shipment to Risdon in Tasmania.
A trio of ALCos operated by Australian National and led by DL500B 'World' 964, head through the barren hills a few kms west of Broken Hill with another load for Port Pirie.
