QRNational Sweeper Freight #Y243 had a few troubles yesterday and as a result QR 3720/3813/3812 were stabled in the loop at Palmwoods.  It continued north the following day at #6241.

It is difficult to get 'fantastic shots' during Summer because the sun is very high, thus masking the light very harsh.  One would need to photograph this train north of Bundaberg or south of Cooroy if they were to take advantage of the longer daylight hours and avoid high sun.

I assume the Broadmeadow Plant is shut down over the Christmas period for a few weeks like Walkers and Redbank Workshops.

Thanks mate, yeah I figured they would close down for a period. Thought that one may be due to slip out of broadmeadow in mid Jan sometime.

3723 was noted in in sheds last week painted so would more than likely if following the patteren would have left UGR Broadmeadow last Thursday 22/1 or Friday 23/1.
3724 was sitting in undercoat in the static testing area over the Wednesday 21/1 to Monday 26/1 period.

QR 3732 is due off ACR in about 2 hours (AEST) heading to Yukan.

3284 was at Yukan today ready for the final trip to Townsville.

This loco is one of the 4 that had ballast attached to the body .This ballast increased the locomotive weight from 110 tonnes to 120 tonnes.
