G'day all.
My sources definitely confirmed today El Zorro will run to Warrnambool on behalf of QUBE next month.

It'll be good to see freight running down there again.
Cheers all.
"damooops"

This is not a QUBE train it is an ElZorro Train contracted to Wettenhalls. Qube just strip and load at Melb.

Sinbad? Believe me now?

No. Incorrect.

El Zorro, on behalf of QUBE, are operating the train until such time as QUBE have locomotives, wagons and qualified crew for that particular line ready for use.

So in the mean time, El Zorro are hauling the QUBE loads for Wettenhalls, Warrnambool.
"nr1_r761_s300"

And you know this how? I think you might find you are wrong.
"Sinbad"

Well how can you confirm its solely El Zorro?

I've heard from QUBE crews and other sources that this is the QUBE train being operated on behalf of QUBE by El Zorro. Hence the loading is QUBE and the rest El Zorro.
"nr1_r761_s300"

Then you need to ask your QUBE crews when their training is to start.  They might be dissapointed. ElZorro have a contract with Wettenhalls.

That's an uber subtle hint if I ever saw one, NR1_R761_S300 Wink

Also, I'll most likely be out in Colac to get this tonight, provided I'm not stuck playing "Tosh Taxi" for drunken gremlins -__-

The long awaited Warrnambool goods has just rolled out of the gloom past my kitchen window into Warrnambool about 7.40. It was past before I could get a good look but looked like a T and S in VR clolours with a very motley collection of rolling stock trailing. So a fair guess might suggest El Zorro is the operator.
"lrbam"

These wagons have just been refurbished and look great. Must have been a bit bleary eyed to call them motley.

Where is Wangoon, never heard of it ? The new crossing loop is to be built at Warncoort at a location between the Up side of the Princes Highway level crossing and the Down end of Birregurra station . Originally the loop was to be built in the vicinity of Boorcan between Camperdown and Terang but the site has now changed to Warncoort .
"kuldalai"

Warncoort is correct Kuldalai...Apologies.Never heard about a loop proposal near Boorcan .There was a proposal for a loop at Weerite , on the eastern side  of Camperdown until Warncoort came up.(Wangoom is a location near Warrnambool)

Today's Warrnambool Standard has an article about the first freight out of the refurbished terminal .
It says that ELZ has the contract to provide the train and QUBE strips /reloads the train at Victoria Dock.

The Warrnambool frieght is now running as train numbers 9261 on the Down and 9262 on the up. With a light loco movement of 0261 and 0262 on a sat morning and sunday night. Ex Dynon to South Dynon and return. Looks like the timetable is about 2250 out of Westgate on a Sunday. Arrive 0400. Then 1940 out of Warrnambool monday-friday arriving 0100. Tues-friday ex Melbourne is at 0235 for a 0735 arrival into Warrnambool.. Hope that helps. Is also room for a 7 a week service according to Warrnambool Standard today. Just a shot from me from Yesterday.

Not sure where my Friday post went, but as a follow up, todays motive power was the same. The train arrived  in Warrnambool in the early hours while still dark (sorry, I rolled over and went back to sleep without noting the time). I'm not sure but the wagons appear to be the same as used on the Friday train.

Be interesting to see what happens with this train in a couple months time when a few other trains start going into Vic Dock, well not only this train but all the other trains that are planned.

So the siding pulled out by Victrack (under the Kennett years) and then put back in at a cost of circa $20m will again get some use?

This is good news as I hope some of these new trains use Bunbury Street so we can get a record.

What else can you share with us?

The siding pulled out was not Victoria Dock which did not even exist in the Kennett years ,it was West Swanston Dock.
