Sorry if I post in the wrong section.
While sitting at Ballarat station awaiting the next Vlocity to Melbourne, I can see an N class (457 to be precise) idling away in the siding behind platform 2. Ballarat is a bit out of the normal way for an N, so does anyone have any suggestions why it is here?

I believe its being used for Driver training/familiarisation of the new signals on the Ballarat/Maryborough corridor..

Yeah, not something you see everyday unfortunately. Random fact, 457s last repaint was done in Ballarat.
