Hearing rumours there may be a derailment at the MFT. The UP SCT transfer from laverton is stopped at the junction for sims street having arrived at 17:52. As at 19:17 it is still there. No XPT anywhere to be found.

The two evening Albury services have been cancelled which leads me to believe that there is certainly something blocking the line.

As stated above, 8122 has split the points around Sims St junction(on the Footscray side of the LPC) with the Main or north track and normal access to North Dynon unable to occur. As a result, everything will be routed via the Local or south track.
For traffic in and out of North Dynon, all movements will be done in push-pull via W track.
6006 with the SCT loading from Laverton was stuck at Bunbury St tunnel from 17:52 till around 22:00 when 6023-6029 which have travelled light engine earlier to Tottenham then onto the other end of 6006 and the SCT Transfer train to take the train to Tottenham in order to transfer them to the Local line for the trip back to North Dynon via the W track.

Other movements into Bunbury St tunnel since the last report above were :

20:51 NR4-NR83 5MA5(9701) PN Superfreighter to Adelaide
21:05 6023-6029 down light engine

This is the monster that will get 8122 untangled from the points at Sims St near the LPC. It arrived just before midnight.

I love the look of these cranes. They remind me of the trucks on the Thunderbirds..

Looks like the Main or north track is back online as a pair of NRs made their way into the tunnel @ 15:55 on this track with the 6MP4.
