Have we stalled yet

Has Railpage just about stalled over the last day or so.

It seems that we are down to 40 psi of steam, no water in the glass, a black fire, the pump has stopped, the brakes are dragging and we are still a mile from the top of the hill...........................

yep. there is a code issue with caching I believe.  this is not network or server related. Michael is working on some fixes for the site.

Still a bit slow here in Adelaide to load up though, other sites are miles faster to load up though. It takes a minute or so at times to load a page on here sometimes longer. Not a complaint as such just an observation.

As I posted in the other thread, getting very long delays initially "painting" the page first up. Once it gets past that initial delay, it loads in a flash. I've got a listing of a debug session in Waterfox I can send through if that helps.

Also, I'm getting HUGE 200 responses back from api.railpage.com.au, some as high as 2500+ms, and this one:

[14:00:38.068] GET http://www.railpage.com.au/f-po-topicreview-11375791.htm [HTTP/1.1 200 OK 15364ms]

Yikes!

This one, too:
[14:00:06.461] GET http://www.railpage.com.au/f-po-reply-11375791.htm [HTTP/1.1 200 OK 30216ms]

Fair few CSS style errors coming up, too.

Still much slower than it was, but nowhere near as slow as it had been during "the big slowdown"!

Just a short while ago, clicking Correspondence > Forums resulted in an instant Server Not Responding Message from our Sophos Web Appliance here at work. Refreshing brought up the page.

This issue has now been resolved. Interestingly it was the current NTP DOS attack running around the internet.  We had locked down all the NTP servers on the Railpage subnet to prevent the attack spreading to our servers however VMWARE NTP was running and needed to be shutdown.  This has now been done.

Apologies for the delay as I have been out of the office most of the week.

Onward and Upward.
