I'm sure the new station will be named "Springfield" the same as the suburb. I don't see any correlation between the two dates you have quoted so I'm unsure how they are relevant?

Don't believe the media spin.
I work at Springfield Central and while Springfield Lakes is 99% finished  Central is not anywhere as close to what the Lakes are.
There is a three way tussle about BOTH sites being handed to QR as either lock up stage OR a Turn key operation at the same time, not Lkes this week and Central next month.
Other works include:
Need to level, construct and seal 400 space car park by March 2014
Construct a footbridge from car park to Central
QR Traction Linesmen still working in corridor
Energex from grid
Car park works between Orion shops and Cent Hwy
Street lights,linemarking etc,etc.

While the Cent Hwy is half old eastbound, and half new westbound, the Logan Mwy bridge should open soon, and the flow will switch back to east/west on eastern side while the old Cent Mwy get repaired.

Am not a betting man but the first week of December is tight,I would rather say between then and Christmas, just for Central to operate with limited car parking.

Se what happens this week.

Opening of the Springfield line took place today with the official train departing Richlands at 10.00 am on time,
The opening at Springfield Central was well attended despite the lack of publicity for the event with free shuttle trains operating on the line between Richlands and Springfield Central after the opening through till about 2.00 pm.
Regular services commence tomorrow morning with the first service ex Springfield Central at 5.39 am to Bowen Hills.
A quicker trip between Springfield Central and Darra with track speeds of 140 and 130 kph outrunning the cars on the Centenary highway with a 100kph maximum.
It will be interesting to see what the patronage is like given the big failing of the new line, insufficient parking at the two new stations.
