Something a little different!........ On Saturday the 21st of November 2015 a C class tour is planned on the Victorian North East Standard Gauge line from Melbourne to Albury and return. Details of the tour such as motive power/times are still being worked out, along with the cost to travel.

If your interested in travelling, simply send an email to; cclasstour2015@gmail.com with the word "Yes".

Your support is most appreciated Smile

The photo for this trip can be found here, as I cannot figure out how to use the 'new' photo module on the forums...

P.S. Please feel free to share this information and photo on other groups to get the word out there!

Not the Seymour group. It's being run by a driver who happens to be a C class fanatic.

It is a good bet the passenger cars at Dimboola might get a run?

Absolutely nothing is confirmed. This includes locomotives and rollingstock. All we know is that a C class will be hauling a passenger train from Spenna to Albury and return. Details will be made public when things are confirmed.

Are there still facilities in Albury to turn a locomotive around? Or would the C class run long end leading in one direction?

Seems that the trip is in the feasibility stages at present. any talk of what C classes will be on the train at this point is likely pointless, however there is a 1 in 5 chance that it will be.

I was speaking to the person who is trying to organise this trip a few weeks ago. At that stage the plan was to use ARHS (ACT division) rollingstock and two CFCLA C class locos from the pool currently based at Goulburn. The possibility of purchasing tickets to ride on the transfer working from Canberra/Goulburn to Melbourne and then the return back after the actual Albury tour was/is also being investigated.

The organiser tells me that the response has been extremely positive and that it looks like the tour is a viable event.

So operated by the ARHS ACT, they have the runs on the board and it would seem the confidence of CFCLA. No Victorian groups have mainline accreditation so seem logical.

Just gotta get the gunzels to pay!

I was told back then that there was a possibility of using ARHS rollingstock. That does not necessarily mean that the ARHS are operating the tour. Given that the Seymour organisation is making C501 available perhaps their passenger carriages will now be used as well and the tour will operate under their accreditation. In any case, I'm told planning is well underway with over 100 people having already confirmed a ticket purchase.
