A large number of mineral sands wagons which look quite new via Gheringhap today.  They look to have been attached to a steel train.

Are these heading into Melbourne and why?

I am also confused.  Wagons leaving Melbourne on 6WP2 today at Bunbury Street. http://www.railpage.com.au/railcams/bunbury-street/photo/16605097651 details http://www.railpage.com.au/railcams/bunbury-street/photo/16420424149

later seen through Gheringhap:

Are these the same wagons which came into Melbourne last Friday also on a steel service?

Are those wagons CFCLA owned?  I don't ever recall any CF wagons coming through NSW but I could be wrong.

Iirc those wagons if they are not new were the wagons used by El Zorro for the illuka traffic.

They may have come down originally from NSW.

Through Stawell 15:59 without the CF wagons.  Probably dropped off at Maroona.

Hi All
I wonder if some of these wagons are from the significant number that have been returned from Western Australia from the iron ore traffic? I am not certain how many were used but it would have been at least 50+ pairs if not more and they have been returning back to the East for several months along with the ex Goldsworthy CHCH type.

Phil

Hi Phil.

Where have these wagons been returned to?  Looking at railcam photos of the mineral sands train via stawell the train is not large with about 10 wagons from the looks.

Could these wagons be for a new service starting or an expended service?
