2015 marks three Centenary Milestones for the NSW North Coast Line. Taree to Wauchope commerated in April Raleigh to Coffs Harbour to come this forth coming weekend and in October South Grafton to Glenreagh. Below are a few shots taken on the weekend just gone of LVRs 5917 in action around Wauchope its the first NSWGR 59 class to grace the North Coast in nearly 20 years its seen here running shuttles around Wauchope the following shots are taken between Kendall and Telegraph Point. Between Taree and Kempsey.

Some absolutely superb shots in there.  The one of 5917 on the low bridge intrigues me; the valve gear is right out on the block in fore gear. Was it a stationary photo stop?

Drifting. NSWGR superheated locomotives were fitted with Pilot Drifting Valves and normal practice was to close the regulator, wind the screw out in gear and then adjust the regulator accordingly to "drift on the pilot valve".

Should have thought of that, shouldn't I? A  bridge over a watercourse should have alerted me that he's been drifting downgrade. I'll plead old age.

the train was also starting to slow down as it was stopping at the nearby Telegraph Point loop so the 59 could run around before heading back south.

August 30th Marked the 100th year of operation of Coffs Harbour Station and the Raleigh to Coffs Harbour leg of the NSW North Coast line. Lachlan Valley Railway's 5917 was the star attraction at the Coffs Harbour weekend. A number of shuttles were run on the Friday Saturday and Sunday before 5917 ran to Casino where it was turned on the 75ft Turntable there before startign the long journey back to Sydney. Below are a number of shots from the weekend shots range from Raleigh on the journey North shuttle shots trip shots to Casino and a a shot at Macksville on the journey south.
