Nope, 3.048 should be replaced with 3.280839895 to 9 digits, not that anyone would use relly use it to a 9 digit after the decimal point!  Of course 3.28 would be accurate enough.

So a HO 2 XP + 5 XPT cars should be about (if the model is accurate enough) _______________ (Okay that total sounds better)

Seeing as they have had samples of these since 2010 (ish) then surely its just a matter of booking time in with the factory and completing a run (ok not a simple as that but the tooling would be complete at least)

Let's hope they do another run of the original versions as well.

Don't tell me I messed up the "form-u-la" again?"

To convert metres to feet either divide by 0.3048 or multiply by 3.28 not 3.048. 3.28 is the reciprocal of 0.3048.
But as SA_Trains said just divide by 87 which is the ratio of full size to HO.
br30453

You are correct multiply 1 metre by 3.280839895 (or 3.28) to get feet = 19.87 cm.

But back to the XPTs

I'm guessing that they could be available at Liverpool (mad not too) plenty of cash sales lol. Proberbly wont be discounted @ $250 since they are available already @ $295.

INSTALLING DCC DECODERS IN NEW XPTS
Hi all,  With the delivery of the XPTs just around the corner has anyone heard or planned how we'll fit/ program the 21 pin DCC decoders?  Will it be one in each end and programmed with same number with opposite direction programmed?  Prefer not to set up consist. Any hints at this stage?

if I had to put a decoder in each loco, not trouble there. Myself I would consist them. But one could just give 'em the same number and treat the set as one item.

Very true David - difficulty is that one would be going forward with headlights on and the other decoder /loco going in reverse and have red marker lights on and headlights off.  I may need to be in consist.

One can program the lights not to be directional etc so not a problem. Trick is yu program one at a time, if needed. then operationally they run lie being one loco, which to the DCC sstem, they are.

From FB-

Our shipment of XPTs arrive this weekend. So if you haven't yet placed your order you will need to do so before this weekend to secure it at the pre-delivery price. Also there are still a few people that haven't sent in their final payments. If we don't receive these by the end of next week we will be unable to post out your models until we return from holidays in November.

FB Post tonight reveals that the two SSR special editions are now sold out.
"Factory_Fill"

I was at the Orient express model railway shop today .

And they had a SSR special edition for sale in the window .

I didn't get the number of the loco .

They may have more SSR loco's  in stock .
  brissim Chief Train Controller

No, their FB post was to say they (Auscision) had no more SSR in their warehouse for on-line ordering. There's probably still plenty around in various Hobby shops such as Orient Express. I know Barnes (Newcastle) had several last week.

Dear tony ,

I was just letting people know that there was one over here in SA for sale . Since this loco was done in small numbers
( 100 each ) going by Auscision .

I was just letting people know in NSW that my have missed out on one . As this loco would have more interest in NSW than SA .

Not every hobby shop has a list of every product for sale that they have on the internet .

JUST ANNOUNCED:

Auscision are doing the 'Centenary of Federation' XP2001 Power Car as well as the Starlight Foundation (which was teased last week).

Interesting that these two unannounced power cars are numbered XPT-17 and XPT-18.

The previous models were XPT-1 to XPT-15 (you can see where this is going)...

SO, WHERE & WHAT IS XPT-16?????

Could there be an 'unannounced unannounced' Liverpool Show Only model?

Well looks like I need to go to cash converters after all. Anyone know if they do trade-ins for limbs?

I would imagine if the Olympics livery was done by Auscision the rights to use the Olympic markings would be extremely expensive.

But seeing there is a gap in their product coding I can't think of any other livery the XPT ran in.

Maybe it is a tuscan one

I'd like to buy a single candu loco unit, but I do not think that is a option......

Olympics livery has a big legal issue to contend with, refer to the lOC Olympic Charter at http://www.olympic.org/Documents/olympic_charter_en.pdf, in particular:
4.10.3 In all cases, the period of validity of any contract concluded by an OCOG* must not extend beyond 31 December of the year of the Olympic Games concerned.
*“OCOGs” means Organising Committees for the Olympic Games
Basically this means a license deal to use the Sydney logo needed to be in place by 31/12/2000.

There are a number of XP power car liveries that haven't been done by Auscision as noted on the previous page of this thread.

What about this one....unnnhuh?

  Newcastle Express Chief Commissioner

If their are two announced XP power cars, maybe a NSW TrainLink branded one, and MAYBE the Olympic one?

That Elvis XPT sign seems to look more like just an add-on sign, not part of the colour scheme itself.

Could it be the whatever-that-Southern-Aurora-van was/is called, that was used for the XPT test train?
