Who is still around?

I have been on Railpage for 10+ years, don't post much these days but sometimes like to see what is happening.  To be honest I have not been on a train in over 4 months!

Who else has been around for a while and still lurking?

I'm nowhere near as active as I was years ago.  These days the only trains I do are the daily commute.

Member since 2003. Can tell by my rank that I am not a prolific poster, but definite reader and lurker.

Enjoy reading posts from long termers like M636C on engineering stuff, Sulla1 on items in my neck of the woods, Graham on Qld stuff, Petan on archeology and many others like bing, james and others that stir the pot. I may not agree with them but at least they articulate a point of view. Keeps the site vibrant.

Nice to see some people still around.  You are right things certainly have changed over the last 10 years.  I remember, years ago we would organise meet ups IE had one in Footscray at the hotel which I don't think exists anymore, also had a tour out to Stony Point and even went on the old N class compartment trains up to Seymour and back.  Things certainly have changed.

It would be pretty difficult to arrange a meet for the current 42,937 registered users from all over Australia (and other countries)! There wouldn't be a pub big enough! Mr. Green

I havebeen to 3 meets, each different in size, location and attendance.

It is a matter of a invite and see who comes.  Stil quite possible for those to do.

I've only been a member since mid Aug 2010 so I probably don't count as much of an 'old timer' of the site but I'm still hanging about, lurking much, much more than I post. You shan't be rid of me just yet!

Though I do have this bad habit of dissappearing for months at a time when I don't find many interesting threads so maybe you are sometimes...

Had this account since about 2005. Haven't posted much lately, but I still read the forum a few times a week at least. Mainly the SA and NSW ones. I don't ride trains much if at all, but I still have an interest in railways in general. Albeit less so the rolling stock and consists compared to the actual corridors in question.

If anyone's wondering, I still use Railworks/TS2017, and have found a work around the burden of spending weeks detailing one town, so that I can get the scenery/misc objects between Quorn and Hawker in the game, to possibly bring it to life.

In my early RP days I certainly found this an interesting place to regularly visit back then. Been visiting here and regularly viewing the forums since Jan 2003. Actually I joined a day after David Head who I see is still going strong on here and doing good job.  There is still a few other names I see from time to time who now are sort of like old Forum family members.  In those early days of RP it was always full of interesting topics in more ways than one. But alas, time has changed near everything around us for us older folk one hardly recognises what is what and it all gets bit harder to grasp with these modern day issues. These latter days/years, one being old school I've become a forum backseat passenger mostly just viewing the forums now. Sadly I do miss the old rail systems, all now long gone. Nowadays I suppose this old fart is drifting into oblivion so to speak, but the forums are still nice to occasionally come and check them out.

Ya all have a good one.
Regards,
Johnny.
