I am  finally working on my AR Kits 600 class doing the "brasstic" detailing, I need to get the silver chevrons onto the pilot, are there any decals available?

I also need a piping shrike but I guess they are easily available as a decal.

I know of no chevron decal.

The shrieking pike was available from BGB, initially as a photographic reproduction (on paper...), and laterly, as a rather poorly executed decal, on the 830 class sheet: the same sheet is now available from SOAK.

BGB used to make a range of suitable decals, but unfortunately, that business has gone (or has gone missing at least...)

What I'd recommend is to get in contact with Signs of All kinds and see if they have the decals. If not, then it is fairly simple to get them to make you "custom" decals. Use photos as a guide as well as your model and measure up.

Good luck.

HMMmmmmmm....... fascinating!

Interesting array of bits, kits and decals. I didn't see decals suitable for the 600, but they may be there....

Hi,

When I did my mustard pot 600's I masked the area for the chevron so that it would match the cigar band and roof.

Another approach would be to cut a decal from some silver decal sheet - microscale has this available. Finally, you could take some clear decal sheet spray it silver then cut the chevron out and apply. I am following this approach for the yellow stripes on a 500 class DE shunter.

Cheers

It might be better left unfound actually!
