X43 derailed with G522 staying on track. It is amazing how the mind plays tricks on you, I saw the locos from the RRL line last evening at around 6.30 and in my minds eye it was an FA schemed G class and a freshly repainted XR or similar. Weird.

There have been some big PN intermodal trains departing North Dynon recently, as long if not longer than the Aurizon ones back when they still had the SCT loading on board.Brenton,
This evening's service saw the locos a fair way out past the fuel point with the tail end right back past Radcliffe St.
I am not sure if these are MB services or something different but it is great to see after a bit of a quiet period for the yard.

There is a pic over at VicSig today showing SSR doing a driver training run to Traralgon.
Is this for a new service or just retraining for an existing, I can't think of any service they currently run down there

perhaps for the Proposed log traffic to Colac ?There is a pic over at VicSig today showing SSR doing a driver training run to Traralgon.

How interesting.
Maybe this is for a new container service in Gippsland or logs?
HCMT transfer training, I would guess.perhaps for the Proposed log traffic to Colac ?There is a pic over at VicSig today showing SSR doing a driver training run to Traralgon.

Colac to Maryvale proposed traffic
Rail Dropping for the moment for that bit of gippsland line duplication.HCMT transfer training, I would guess.perhaps for the Proposed log traffic to Colac ?There is a pic over at VicSig today showing SSR doing a driver training run to Traralgon.

Thanks Jack.HCMT = ?????High Capacity Metro Trains. Sorry, I thought I had seen you post something in that thread? And had also thought that most people on Railpage would have been aware what it stood for. Again, sorry for clarifying.
Please.

SSR locomotive sighted in Morwell yesterday afternoon in the siding at the station, it had a few wagons. Unsure what was on them as only got a quick look.Photos over at VicSig showing 2 x SSR T class running a rail train to Morwell.
Was also stabled there on Monday 26th.

As pointed out by others elsewhere in response to a post by yours truly they ran driver training runs out to Traralgon a few days ago as they apparently have a contract to provide works trains for the upcoming upgrade works.

Silly question, perhaps:I know on the Defined Interstate Rail Network (DIRN) (ARTC part) one can gain route knowledge, by being taken for a prescribed amount of trips in a Hi-Rail with a Track Inspector or another Qualified Rail Worker.
How does an operator new to a route train engine crews for their new routes if they have not already got/inherited (whatever) a driver trainer already qualified for that route?
Off topic for a second - What qualification did the instructor at the first ladder course have to enable him to instruct others on how to safely climb a ladder? The first ladder instructor was taught by a monkey with a ladder. The procedure is unchanged to this very day.
at one stage PN had a ban on any former employees with route knowledge of the Portland Line from working for any opposition operator, therefore route knowledge was unable to passed along through that line. How would or could they enforce that? If the employee leaves PN then surely PN has no control over what they can or can't do next? Surely the RTBU amongst many other parties would take a keen interest in that as it is restraint of trade and restraint of employment

I'm not going to comment on how QUBE conduct their training, sorry. That's their business.Silly question, perhaps:I know on the Defined Interstate Rail Network (DIRN) (ARTC part) one can gain route knowledge, by being taken for a prescribed amount of trips in a Hi-Rail with a Track Inspector or another Qualified Rail Worker.
How does an operator new to a route train engine crews for their new routes if they have not already got/inherited (whatever) a driver trainer already qualified for that route?
It might be a question for @LowndesJ515, as QUBE would have had to have found a way to gain route knowledge for the Portland Line, as at one stage PN had a ban on any former employees with route knowledge of the Portland Line from working for any opposition operator, therefore route knowledge was unable to passed along through that line.
